  • WhatsApp service : In certain regions, SASSA offers an application service through WhatsApp to assist people who do not have computer access.  

Their South African ID, proof of banking details, and proof of income or unemployment, along with their proof of residence, are required of all applicants.  

When Will Payments Be Made?

Payments for successful applicants will start after approval of the R700 grant, and will be either deposited into their bank accounts or accessed via cash pay points organised by SASSA. The collection method may cause slight variations in payment dates, but SASSA will issue the schedules each month.
