SASSA Grant Increase 2025 : South Africans depending on socials grants can breathe in relief as SASSA has announced some increases for the month of August 2025. Bigger Grants Coming This Month

  • Care Dependency Grant: R2,315.
  • Child Support Grant: R560.

These increases provide slight but important relief to beneficiaries so that they maintain keeping up with inflation on the whole and basic living expenses. 

Payment Dates For August 2025

SASSA has also released the official payment schedule set for August 2025:

  • Older Person’s Grants: From August 2, 2025.
  • Disability Grants: From August 5, 2025.
  • Children’s Grants: From August 6, 2025.
  • SRD R370 Relief Grant: To be paid in batches through the month after status approval.

Beneficiaries are, however, advised to wait for the official SMS notifications and omit long queues at pay points by making use of their SASSA gold cards as well as ATMs and retail stores where it is possible to access grants.
