Grants social relief payments will not require biometric checks for the time being, but SASSA has warned that all grant payments may be subject to biometric verification in the future.
What Beneficiaries Are Expected To Do
To finish this one-time step, beneficiaries must go to the closest SASSA office, Postbank branch, or biometric centre. They will be required to show their valid South African identity card while their fingerprints and facial images are scanned.
In the case of the disabled, senior citizens, or those who are unable to travel, SASSA has assured that mobile units will travel to their residences and community centres for the verification. This guarantees that all beneficiaries are verified regardless of their physical condition.
Payment Dates And Access
After validation, beneficiaries should look forward to receiving their September 2025 grants as per the norm, either directly in their bank accounts or at designated payment centres.
