SASSA September 2 Payments Confirmed – Pension, Disability And Child Support Grant Dates

SASSA September Grants Schedule 2025 : Beneficiaries of the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) grants may now relax as the September 2025 payment schedule has been finalized. Nearly all South Africans depend on such grants monthly, and with SASSA’s latest announcement, it is guaranteed that payments will start on the 2nd of September 2025, without any delays.

This is especially important for pensioners, caregivers, and persons with disabilities who rely on monthly grants to purchase essentials such as food, transport, and medical care. SASSA has also announced the full payout timetable for the different categories of beneficiaries, so the process is a lot easier. 

Full SASSA Payment Schedule For September 2025

  • Older Persons (Pension Grant): Payments will commence on Monday, 2 September. Those beneficiaries who receive linked grants such as child support will also receive payments on the same day.
  • Disability Grants: Payments will then follow on Tuesday, 3 September.
  • Child Support Grants and All Other Grants: Payments will begin on Wednesday, 4 September.

The phased payment plan aims to tackle the issue of extensive waiting lines both at cash payment centers and at ATMs, retail outlets, and Postbank branches. It also makes cash withdrawal convenient for the beneficiaries.  

Your SASSA Grant Collection  

The funds for SASSA beneficiaries can be accessed from:  

  • Direct Bank Deposits (most secure and fastest option).  
  • SASSA Gold Card (Payable at ATMs, supermarkets, and other participating retailers).  
  • Post Office / Cash Pay Points (for the unbanked).  

To help minimize queues at Postbank branches, beneficiaries are advised to use ATMs and other retail outlets for their withdrawals.  

Beneficiary Guidelines To Note  

  • Check your balance before withdrawing to avoid incurring unreasonable bank charges.  
  • Safeguard your SASSA card and NEVER disclose your PIN to anyone.  
  • If you have amended your bank particulars, have them corrected on the SASSA system to avoid payment delays.  
  • There is no need to go to collection points immediately upon release of funds since the money will remain in the accounts until withdrawn.
