Significance Of The Increase

To a large extent, these grants are the only source of income for many families. Retirees will now be able to expand their monthly spending plan, parents will be enabled to do more for their children, while people with disabilities will get additional help in meeting medical and personal expenses.

The increase will bolster household resilience and remind us of the government’s willingness to social support that adheres to the economic challenges in the country.

What Beneficiaries Should Do

Beneficiaries need to:

  • Take note of the payment dates and amounts in order to manage their budgets.
  • Inform SASSA of any changes to bank details to ensure that there are no delays in payments.
  • Collect their grants in a safe manner and stay away from the rush on the first day of payments.
  • Keep an eye out for any deductions as only one legal deduction with a maximum of 10% is permitted with consent.
