SASSA Old Age Grant 2025 : For the countless senior citizens who reside in South Africa, the South African Social Security agency (SASSA) has provided confirmation for the Old Age Pension payment dates for the month of September 2025. As is well known, a number of pensioners depend on such grants either for a portion of their income or as their primary source of financial assistance to their food, medication, transport, and household budget needs.
September 2025 Payment Dates
To SASSA, the most important aspect is that beneficiaries have complete knowledge of the dates and times when they would be paid. The Old Age Grants payments would start on the 2nd of September 2025 (Tuesday). This would be the first type of grant to be paid, and the pensioners would be the first to access their funds.
Following this the Dobility Grants would start on the 3rd of September 2025, Child Support and remaining grants would be on the 4th of September 2025. Payments for the rest would be made on the 5th of September 2025. The spread out payments would make it easier to manage setting up collection points and managing the influx of people as it would be easier to control people.

Grant Amounts For September 2025
Since September, the SASSA Old Age Pension Grant has been set at R2,315 for pensioners between the ages of 60 and 74. Older pensioners receive grant R2,335 which is slightly higher in value. The said increase was unpopular for pensioners all over the country, but it was implemented earlier in 2025 nonetheless.
