SASSA R2,315 September Grant 2025 : The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has issued the repayment timetable for the R2,315 Older Persons Grant in September 2025. Thanks to this, pensioners can now better plan their budgets as the steady flow of income they depend on is clearer now.  

The Significance Of The R2,315 Grant

The Older Persons Grant, R2,315 in value, is extremely important to pensioners as it helps them get food, electricity, transport, and healthcare. Due to increasing living expenses, the grant continues to be a vital support, especially in homes where the pension has to be shared with other family members. 

With the September update from SASSA, beneficiaries can be confident that the payments will be made properly and on time in all provinces. This will help reduce any inconvenience while accessing the funds.

Provincial Payment Schedule

The schedule for September 2025 is organised as payment dates and methods for each of the 9 provinces. Beneficiaries with bank accounts are to have funds deposited directly while those without bank accounts can withdraw funds from SASSA and Postbank pay points. 

SASSA has clarified that mobile pay units 

will serve pensioners in distant and rural areas, ensuring everyone is able to receive their grants.

Highlights From Each Province:

  • Gauteng & Western Cape: Payments are set to begin on 3 September 2025, and will be made by banks and Postbank outlets.
  • KwaZulu-Natal & Eastern Cape: Payments are to be made on 4 September 2025. 
  • Limpopo & Mpumalanga: Payments will be made to beneficiaries starting 5 September 2025. 
  • Northern Cape, Free State & North West: Payments will be made through local pay points on 6 September 2025. 

All beneficiaries should contact SASSA offices in their respective regions to receive more information/appointments on payment dates.

How To Access Your September Grant

To receive their payment on time pensioners must: 

  • Update bank account details with SASSA. 
  • Safeguard the SASSA card as it will be used for card and ATM withdrawals.
  • Attend and complete biometric verification at SASSA offices or to SASSA’s designated centres.

Those with concerns and those who missed payments should be in touch with SASSA’s helpline or their nearest SASSA office for help.
