What Is The UCRF 2025?

Similar to the COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant offered in the past few years, the UCRF 2025 grant will fill the gap for at-risk citizens who are not eligible for other government benefits.

The fund is designed to be temporary and seeks to assist South Africans during the period when employment programmes and job opportunities are being enhanced.
Who Qualifies For The Emergency Payments?
Everyone won’t be eligible for the UCRF 2025. To qualify, the applicant must:
- Have a South African ID or permanent residence.
- Be between the ages of 18 and 59.
- Be currently unemployed with no stable income.
- Not be on any other form of government grant (like the Old Age Grant, Disability Grant, or Child Support Grant).
- Pass an income threshold test with evidence of financial need.
Applicants should download and complete the application form from the UCRF website, and have their identification and banking information verified before their payment is approved.
How Much Will The Beneficiaries Receive?
While the exact amount is still being finalised, it is reported that each approved applicant could receive between R350 and R500 per month from the UCRF 2025. To guarantee the security and speed of funds transfer, beneficiaries’ bank accounts and mobile money accounts will be used to receive payments.
