When Do Payments Start?

The payment schedule of September 2025 is as follows:
- Older Persons Grant : Monday, 2 September 2025
- Disability Grant : Tuesday, 3 September 2025
- Children’s Grants (including Foster Care and Child Support) : Wednesday, 4 September 2025

How Payments Will Be Made
The following options are offered to SASSA beneficiaries for convenient fund access:
- Fund deposits into personal bank accounts
- ATM withdrawals across the country
- Purchases or cash withdrawals at Shoprite, Checkers, Pick n Pay, and Boxer
- Transactions with the SASSA gold card, which is still active and valid
In order to mitigate the chance of theft and to avoid unnecessary crowding, beneficiaries should make use of digital and card-based payments.

Safety of funds and benefit payments continues to be of primary concern to SASSA. - There is no need to be at pay points at the crack of dawn as funds are secure and may be accessed anytime after the release date.
